Test Engineer 1 (Tactical Data Links)

What you will do

• Plan, develop, execute, and document system-level integration and functional tests.
• Perform usability checks and verification for an agile-developed product supporting future warfighters.
• Prepare test procedures, results, anomaly reports, and test summary reports for government certification activities.
• Configure and maintain hardware and software test environments and baselines.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and government stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and track corrective actions.
• Support test automation, toolchain integration, Standards Conformance Testing, and Scrum ceremonies.

Requirements

• Early- to mid-career experience with strong initiative and the ability to self-manage and prioritize work.
• Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present technical material to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance at Secret level or above; an active clearance is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Austin, Texas, United States.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, command-line operations, XML, JSON, and Microsoft Visio.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Jira, JAMA Contour, requirements management, and test management tools.
• Knowledge of Tactical Data Links such as Link 16, VMF, CoT, or CMF.
• U.S. military service, DoD contracting experience, or an academic background in defense-related systems.
