Software Engineer (SAN)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test features for the ONTAP storage operating system.
• Build functionality for QoS, Balanced Placement, SAN, and block storage technologies.
• Participate in design, development, debugging, testing, and customer support throughout the product lifecycle.
• Analyze failures, debug complex issues across software layers, and drive root-cause resolution.
• Own features and modules end to end while influencing the design and maintenance of complex functionality.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of relevant industry experience delivering features for complex subsystems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Unix/Linux system programming.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems, multithreading, system internals, file systems, data paths, replication, and high-availability systems.
• Experience with storage technologies, preferably SAN protocols such as FC, iSCSI, and NVMe-oF.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and modern development practices.
