Software Engineer (Azure Cloud Storage)

Location: Cork, Munster, Ireland; hybrid working environment with in-office and/or in-person expectations

What you will do

• Own software features across design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Design, develop, and operate cloud-native services using containers, microservices, distributed systems, and CI/CD practices.
• Build end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences.
• Improve service reliability, scalability, operational readiness, and engineering quality through automated testing and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Collaborate with product management, architects, and partner teams while contributing through code reviews, design discussions, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience.
• Strong production experience with Go and Python, including scalable backend services, test automation, validation, tooling, CI/CD, or operational automation.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, service-to-service integrations, Kubernetes, containers, microservices, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native distributed systems in Azure.
• Knowledge of automated testing, performance optimization, security, observability, monitoring, telemetry, and operational excellence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, and C#.
• Experience with cloud storage services, distributed systems, file systems, databases, data protection, or infrastructure services.
