Associate Principal Engineer - Cloud Platform

Location: Alameda, California, United States; office-based role with minimal travel

Salary: $182,000–$259,000 annual base pay

What you will do

• Design and create cloud-based products and services, including cloud automation standards and AWS account provisioning automation.
• Lead large, complex cloud platform initiatives and guide delivery from ideation through CI/CD, security scanning, and production monitoring.
• Work with application support teams to improve application installation and configuration interfaces.
• Develop long-term strategies and innovative solutions for complex technical and operational problems.
• Define access, permissions, security controls, infrastructure documentation, and incident-mitigation approaches.
• Serve as a platform engineering subject-matter expert, advising stakeholders and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with 9 years of relevant experience, bachelor’s degree with 11 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• At least 10 years of experience with cloud infrastructure in highly available production environments.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS hosting services, including EC2, RDS, Systems Manager, and IAM.
• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools, especially Terraform.
• Intermediate knowledge of cloud and infrastructure automation and continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.
• Technical certification may be required.
