Accounting Associate

Location: Milwaukee, WI, United States

Salary: $42,000–$63,000 per year, plus an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Post, verify, and balance general ledger entries and accounts.
• Process accounts payable transactions and prepare batch payments.
• Post, audit, collect, and correct accounts receivable transactions.
• Support weekly hourly payroll processing and plant month-end financial close.
• Maintain accounting, payroll, and backup documentation according to record-keeping policies.
• Provide administrative support and coordinate corporate requests and cyclical filings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least one year of experience in a business office or accounting function.
• Exposure to general ledger, payroll, and/or accounts payable activities.
• Solid knowledge of accounting procedures and strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, listening, and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and work flexible hours or overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or college accounting coursework.
• Experience in manufacturing, containerboard, or corrugated packaging.
• Experience with accounts payable and general ledger software.
• Previous experience working in a team environment.
