Sr Systems Engineer (Fusion Power)

What you will do

• Own top-level plant requirements and decompose mission objectives into traceable subsystem and component requirements.
• Lead trade studies and support major plant architecture decisions with clear technical rationale.
• Define electrical, mechanical, controls, and data interfaces through Interface Control Documents.
• Lead plant-level design reviews, verification planning, and requirements traceability activities.
• Identify and mitigate integration risks while driving configuration management and change control.
• Build technical consensus across engineering, science, business, and supplier teams and represent the plant's technical position in leadership reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of systems engineering experience involving requirements, architecture, or interface definition for complex plant or hardware systems.
• Experience decomposing high-level plant or mission requirements into traceable, verifiable subsystem requirements.
• Experience authoring and owning Interface Control Documents across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience developing and executing verification and validation plans against system-level requirements.
• Strong technical writing, communication, consensus-building, and cross-functional decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, nuclear, energy systems, or other complex, safety-critical, first-of-kind hardware or plant programs.
• Experience with Jama, DOORS, Teamcenter, or similar requirements management and PLM tools.
• Experience with engineering risk management, system safety, reliability methods, FMEA, FMECA, or fault tree analysis.
• Experience mentoring engineers in systems engineering practices.
