System Electrical Domain Architect (Electrical Systems)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. The position is onsite, with a flexible workplace arrangement allowing remote work up to two days per week. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Base annual salary: $222,000–$305,250.

What you will do

• Define and steer system-level electrical domain architecture for one or more products.
• Translate system requirements into electrical concepts, design principles, interfaces, and subsystem work breakdowns.
• Lead architecture sessions and align Foundation Heads of Domain, System Engineering, MDU architects, technical leads, and D&I teams.
• Review subsystem architecture and ensure balanced performance, reliability, safety, compliance, cost, and serviceability.
• Identify studies, manage technical and architectural risks, and escalate conflicts or scope decisions when needed.
• Coach technical teams and contribute to architect development programs and the architect community.

Requirements

• BS degree in engineering or a relevant technical field; an MSc or PhD is preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of experience defining and realizing architecture within the relevant domain.
• Experience working across different subsystems or business lines as a domain architect responsible for a function.
• Proven ability to define end-to-end electrical system architecture across power, SEM e-beam control, signal, safety, and EMC.
• Strong knowledge of grounding, shielding, signal and power integrity, EMI mitigation, and electrical trade-offs.
• Knowledge of NFPA, IEC, SEMI, CE, SEC common specifications, and customer-specific requirements is required.
