What you will do

• Break news stories on distressed debt, company earnings, and out-of-court restructurings.
• Write long-form features connecting daily news to broader market trends.
• Generate new ideas for market coverage and identify emerging situations.
• Monitor markets using internal technology to ensure timely and comprehensive reporting.
• Maintain a deep network of sources and manage a consistent story pipeline.

Requirements

• 2+ years of finance reporting experience, preferably in distressed debt markets.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
• Highly organized with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Inquisitive, outgoing, and self-motivated personality.
• Must be based in or able to work from New York.
