Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure)

Location: San Francisco, California; candidates in other locations may also be considered

Salary: $166,000–$225,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Build and extend core infrastructure components for the Databricks platform.
• Architect multi-cloud systems and abstractions for running products across public and private cloud providers.
• Develop systems and services for managing Kubernetes clusters, distributed APIs, rate limiting, network security, and encryption.
• Improve software development workflows and operational efficiency using build, test, and release automation.
• Use data and AI tools to analyze build and test logs and metrics and identify improvements.
• Establish engineering standards through code checking, test harnesses, release packaging, and reliable engineering processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience writing production code in Java, Scala, Go, C++, or Python.
• Experience architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience working with cloud APIs and public or advanced private cloud platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong interest in building highly scalable and reliable infrastructure.
