TL;DR
Staff Product Test Engineer (RF): Supporting production testing and troubleshooting for PCBA, RF/microwave, digital, and analog communications hardware with an accent on yield optimization, reliability, and design-to-production transitions. Focus on root cause analysis, hardware/software debugging, DFM/DFT improvements, and resolving complex production issues in aerospace communication systems.

Location: Austin, TX, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.

What you will do

  • Provide hands-on technical support for PCBA and RF/microwave products during production.
  • Lead troubleshooting, yield-loss investigations, test-failure analysis, and root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Debug digital logic, embedded systems, hardware/software integrations, and mixed-signal interfaces.
  • Support Low-Rate Initial Production and transitions to consistent manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with design engineering and test equipment teams on DFM, DFT, product quality, and functional performance.
  • Drive process improvements that increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve product reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience supporting a production environment.
  • Experience designing, producing, and testing microwave communications hardware and assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB-level debugging, embedded systems, and hardware/software integration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, data analysis, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin, Texas and meet applicable U.S. space technology export-control requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or industrial electronics.
  • Expertise spanning both engineering and operations.
