Systems Analyst & Application Support Developer (PowerBuilder)

Location: Any city in Manitoba, Canada. The role supports in-person collaboration. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents because the client operates under ITAR requirements.

What you will do

• Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise insurance and driver licensing applications in production.
• Analyze incidents, troubleshoot application and batch-processing failures, and implement fixes.
• Modify and maintain PowerBuilder applications and interfaces with .NET-based middleware services.
• Develop and maintain Unix/Linux KornShell scripts for operational processes.
• Use SQL databases to investigate data issues and support application functionality.
• Participate in upgrades, deployments, testing, production releases, documentation, and ITIL service-management activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment.
• Hands-on PowerBuilder development and support experience.
• Experience with SQL databases, Unix/Linux environments, KornShell scripting, batch processing, and scheduled jobs.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, communication, and ITIL-based support skills.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required under ITAR.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP ASE (Sybase), Micro Focus COBOL, ServiceNow, HP ALM, or similar lifecycle-management tools.
• Experience supporting legacy enterprise systems and high-availability business applications.
• Insurance, government, or public-sector industry experience.
