IT Automation Engineer (macOS/AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; onsite five days per week

Salary: $145K–$195K per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own the macOS fleet lifecycle, including architecture, configuration, deployment, procurement, maintenance, replacement, and secure retirement.
• Administer and improve Jamf Pro, Jamf Protect, Apple Business Manager, and related Apple device-management services.
• Provide hands-on support for macOS hardware, operating systems, applications, identity, office networks, and Wi-Fi in a live workplace.
• Build secure IT and security automations using AI tooling, Python, shell scripting, APIs, webhooks, and lightweight integration services.
• Administer Slack and maintain integrations across Rippling, Google Workspace, Jamf, and other internal platforms.
• Improve onboarding, offboarding, access management, software deployment, device compliance, inventory, documentation, and support workflows.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on experience in client platform, corporate IT, or endpoint engineering.
• Deep macOS administration expertise covering diagnostics, Apple hardware, peripherals, networking, and operating-system subsystems.
• Mastery of Jamf Pro, Jamf Protect, Apple Business Manager, and modern Apple enrollment and management practices.
• Experience building reliable AI-assisted workflows, agents, or internal tools for enterprise systems.
• Python and shell-scripting skills, with experience integrating identity, HR, collaboration, and device-management platforms through APIs, webhooks, and event-driven workflows.
• Experience administering Rippling, Google Workspace, and Slack, including security, permissions, integrations, and workflow automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linear, Notion, help desk systems, and team knowledge management.
• Cybersecurity, corporate security, investigations, compliance, legal operations, or incident response experience.
• Familiarity with zero-touch deployment, identity-driven access, device trust, and zero-trust architecture.
• Experience designing IT operations for a rapidly growing organization.
