Frontend Developer (Vue)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States; hybrid

Salary: $130,000–$270,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end components and user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, with Vue preferred.
• Build interfaces that conform to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA accessibility standards.
• Perform manual and automated accessibility testing with JAWS and other assistive technologies, then remediate issues involving keyboard navigation, focus management, ARIA, color contrast, and semantic HTML.
• Conduct accessibility audits, document findings, and prepare test reports and accessibility conformance documentation.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, system engineers, QA, DevOps, and product owners to integrate accessibility into design and delivery.
• Integrate tools such as axe-core, Pa11y, and Lighthouse into CI/CD pipelines and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; a master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with front-end development, JAWS screen reader testing, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 Levels A/AA, and ARIA authoring practices.
• Strong knowledge of semantic HTML, accessible form design, keyboard navigation, focus management, and accessibility auditing tools.
• Experience with Git, Agile collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence, and accessibility testing or remediation.

Nice to have

• Experience producing VPATs or Accessibility Conformance Reports for federal agencies.
• Experience integrating automated accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with Cypress or similar automated UI and accessibility testing tools.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and deployment.
• Knowledge of government agency reporting and dissemination policies.
