Frontend Engineer (Vue.js)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, US; three days per week in the office, with up to five days available

Base salary: $139,500–$145,500 per year

Wonder is a mealtime platform combining restaurants, culinary operations, logistics, and technology to prepare and deliver varied meals at scale. Its Robotics team develops automation solutions for restaurant kitchens.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Vue.js applications that provide restaurant team members with real-time visibility and controls for robotic kitchen equipment.
• Build and optimize WebSocket-based systems for high-frequency backend data and responsive interfaces.
• Translate Figma designs into high-performance user interfaces and contribute technical feedback to product design discussions.
• Diagnose and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks caused by complex state changes and heavy workloads.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, product, and design teams to deliver resilient robotics tools.
• Learn and work across the broader technology stack, including Elixir and Phoenix when needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Deep expertise in Vue.js or a comparable frontend framework, TypeScript, and CSS.
• Strong understanding of centralized state management and complex reactive data structures.
• Experience building applications with persistent, two-way real-time communication.
• Ability to use profiling tools to identify and resolve frontend performance issues under heavy loads.
• Strong UI/UX sensibility and willingness to contribute to design discussions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elixir and Phoenix or willingness to learn them.
• Experience with React, Angular, or Svelte.
