Mechanical Design Manager (Opto-Mechanical)

What you will do

• Lead and manage opto-mechanical design engineers developing precision mechanisms, optics modules, and subsystems for reticle inspection tools.
• Set technical direction, goals, priorities, and resource allocation for the design team.
• Guide solutions for optomechanical design, precision mechanisms, ultra-high and ultra-clean vacuum functionality, and precision stage and actuation systems.
• Ensure designs meet requirements for stiffness, sub-micron motion, thermal control, and advanced materials.
• Coordinate with suppliers and Optics, Systems, Manufacturing, and Service engineering groups for subsystem and system integration and testing.
• Oversee documentation, product development phases, risk management, new product introduction, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of management experience and a proven ability to lead.
• Strong background in opto-mechanical and precision mechanism design.
• Experience managing and developing engineering teams, collaborating across disciplines, and driving team performance.
• Familiarity with machining, sheet metal, welding, and casting processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, initiative, and commitment to technical excellence.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Creo and experience with FEA, GD&T, and CFD tools such as Pro/Mechanica, ANSYS, and CF Design.
• Experience with supplier management, motion control, electronics, data acquisition, instrumentation, tooling, and test fixture design.
• Successful new product introduction and cross-functional project leadership experience.
