Sr Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

Salary: $141,300–$207,233 annually

What you will do

• Drive optomechanical and precision mechanism designs from requirements and feasibility through detailed design, prototype build, testing, manufacturing release, and handoff.
• Create detailed 3D models and drawings using Creo, including GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Perform fluid, thermal, and vibrational analysis using hand calculations and FEA modeling.
• Lead and participate in design reviews, coordinating peer assessment and design decisions.
• Procure, assemble, and test prototypes; support system integration and testing.
• Create assembly, test, and manufacturing documentation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with 3D solid modeling.
• At least 1 year of experience with FEA and GD&T.
• Strong background in mechanism design and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of optical subsystems.
• Familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication, and castings.
• Doctorate with 3 years of related experience, master's degree with 6 years, or bachelor's degree with 8 years.
