Director, Trading Market Risk - Global Equities

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 2–3 days per week on-site at 161 Bay Street

What you will do

• Provide independent market risk oversight for Global Equities trading desks.
• Monitor positions, risk exposures, trading limits, profit and loss, capital, and market developments.
• Challenge trading strategies, hedging approaches, positions, and risk management practices.
• Partner with Stress, Capital Markets Risk, Trading, Finance, Technology, Quantitative Risk, and other functions to improve risk transparency and reporting.
• Enhance scenario analysis, internal risk measures, and Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) capital metrics.
• Use quantitative, database, and coding skills to automate oversight processes, reporting, and analysis.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in market risk, trading, or a related risk discipline.
• Strong knowledge of capital markets products, including Global Equities, structured notes, equity exotics, equity options, and equity financing.
• Degree in Quantitative Finance, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; a master’s degree is an asset.
• Experience with Python, SQL, Bloomberg API, and other programming or database platforms.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and project leadership skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada and a valid work or study permit where applicable.
