Principal Data Scientist (Construction)

Location: Remote in Ontario, Canada. In-person onboarding and/or identity verification may be required.

Salary: CAD 129,000–189,200 annual base salary, with offers based on experience and geographic location. Additional compensation may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Apply data mining, analytics, and machine learning to understand customer product usage, adoption, and outcomes.
• Build predictive and descriptive statistical models for customer lifetime value, retention, behavior, and trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve products, business performance, adoption, and sales operations.
• Lead junior and senior data scientists and analysts.
• Define and execute data science roadmaps while owning complex projects from start to finish.
• Translate complex analyses into actionable product and business strategy for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in mathematics, physical sciences, statistics, analytics, computer science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with statistical programming and data science toolkits.
• Experience with relational SQL and/or NoSQL databases and big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
• Knowledge of statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, experimental design, and machine learning techniques.
• Experience with customer analytics, data visualization, and reporting tools such as Domo, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
