Data Science Expert (Manufacturing)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid work mode with flexibility to work European time zones, including an early shift of approximately 6:00 AM–2:00 PM.

Expected compensation: CAD 50,000–100,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain ready-to-use data and analytics systems for regulated manufacturing environments.
• Extract, organize, contextualize, and transform data from multiple source systems into business-ready formats.
• Map manufacturing process parameters and operational data from MES, PI Historian, LIMS, iShift, and cloud platforms.
• Develop data contextualization pipelines in cloud-based AI and analytics environments.
• Build dashboards and data visualization solutions for operational and business needs.
• Develop and support machine learning models, advanced analytics, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with manufacturing, process, or operational data.
• Hands-on experience with Python, SQL and MS SQL Server, Power BI, Snowflake, and GitHub.
• Experience with MES, LIMS, process data platforms, data modeling, data pipelines, and data contextualization.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
• English proficiency and availability for European time-zone coverage, including an early shift.

Nice to have

• Experience with PI Historian and PI Vision.
• Experience with JMP, SIMCA, and SIMCA-online.
• Exposure to machine learning and AI platforms.
• Experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, or other regulated industries.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and process performance monitoring.
