Manager, Network Engineering and Telecommunications

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; onsite enterprise infrastructure role across the main campus and thirteen satellite sites.

Salary: $117,500–$307,500 base salary per year.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, and manage network engineers and infrastructure operations personnel.
• Manage campus LAN, enterprise WAN, data-center networks, firewalls, segmentation, VPN, load balancing, NAC, wireless, and VoIP platforms.
• Direct incident response and first-principles troubleshooting as the senior technical escalation point.
• Manage Cisco Unified Communications Manager, telecommunications services, carrier relationships, vendors, contracts, and operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee on-premises and colocation data centers, including installations, upgrades, decommissioning, monitoring, capacity planning, and physical security.
• Deliver network and structured-cabling infrastructure for construction, renovation, and new-facility projects while maintaining compliance and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Deep technical expertise in enterprise routing and switching, firewalls, segmentation, wireless, NAC, load balancing, VPN, and VoIP; Cisco experience is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in network engineering or IT infrastructure.
• At least 3 years of people-management or team-lead experience with hiring, performance management, and budget responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to direct complex troubleshooting and manage concurrent projects, vendors, and budgets in a multi-site enterprise environment.
• Selected applicants must obtain and maintain a government security clearance; Secret Clearance is preferred.
