Senior Software Engineer - Runtime Platform, Robot Software (Autonomous Driving)

Salary: $209,700–$266,800 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Investigate latency and performance bottlenecks across the vehicle software stack.
• Instrument code with profiling tools and metrics to collect performance data.
• Integrate and evaluate profiling and instrumentation tools, benchmark performance, and establish baselines.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to understand performance issues and prioritize optimization work.
• Optimize critical code paths and algorithms to improve runtime efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance system performance.

Requirements

• Develop high-performance embedded Linux systems software in C++.
• Manage the complete software development lifecycle from ideation through delivery and optimization.
• Use performance profiling tools and techniques to identify and resolve system bottlenecks.
• Evaluate experiments methodically and interpret performance results.
• Strong knowledge of OS scheduling, computer architecture, memory hierarchy, CPU caches, context switches, and thread synchronization.
• Work on a full-time hybrid basis in Sunnyvale, California, USA.

Nice to have

• Experience with Nvidia performance tools such as NV Nsight, NV Lumos, and tegrastat.
• Familiarity with observability tools including Grafana, Databricks, and Datadog.
• Experience with QNX and Momentics.
