Director, Financial Systems Engineering

What you will do

• Own reconciliation systems across contracts sold, merchant invoicing, claims paid, servicing reimbursements, operational databases, the analytics warehouse, accounting, and external reporting.
• Design and maintain invoicing logic and programmatic controls that ensure contracted commercial terms are accurately reflected.
• Own financial data models in the shared dbt repository, including contract revenue recognition and claims-cost logic, with responsibility for testing, PR review, and change control.
• Partner with merchant integration and Data Engineering teams on configuration audits, inbound data mapping, expense attribution, and contract attribution.
• Lead exception management, reconciliation-break resolution, root-cause tracking, merchant escalations, and cross-functional coordination across Engineering, Finance, Revenue, and Accounting.
• Prepare obligor, reinsurer, and audit reporting, and identify business-driven needs for team growth.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL and dimensional data modeling experience in a cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
• Experience owning financial or analytical models in dbt or an equivalent analytics engineering environment with version control, testing, CI, PR review, and controlled changes.
• Experience designing order-to-cash systems and automated reconciliation controls at scale.
• Deep revenue recognition expertise for multi-year service contracts, including documenting and defending technical accounting positions with external auditors.
• Strong NetSuite knowledge across billing, invoicing, revenue, segment and subsidiary attribution, and upstream system integrations.
• Experience leading individual contributors in a technical or analytics engineering function, with strong written communication and cross-functional alignment skills.

Nice to have

• Python experience for data validation or reconciliation tooling.
• Experience with merchant reconciliation, warranty or service contract programs, or obligor and reinsurer reporting.
