Director of Data & Analytics (SaaS)

Location: Remote

Salary: $210,000–$230,000 base annually, plus potential equity awards and discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Build and lead the centralized data and analytics function from the ground up.
• Architect the data warehouse, cloud platform, pipelines, data models, and BI infrastructure.
• Replace ad hoc reporting with reliable, reusable data assets.
• Establish governance, metric definitions, and data lineage for company KPIs.
• Develop reporting for executives, boards, and investors.
• Partner across finance, sales, engineering, and other functions to connect data implementation with business decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data, analytics, or business intelligence, including 3+ years leading a function, team, or company-wide data initiative.
• Experience building an analytics capability from zero to one.
• Advanced SQL and hands-on experience with modern data stacks, including cloud warehouses, transformation frameworks, ingestion tools, semantic layers, and BI platforms.
• Working knowledge of SaaS and financial metrics such as ARR, retention, CAC, payback, gross margin, and cohort behavior.
• Experience creating accurate reporting for executives, boards, or investors.
• Ability to design data governance frameworks and communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience in a scaling B2B software or technology company.
• Experience with mixed revenue models involving subscriptions, government contracting, and professional services.
• Familiarity with federal or regulated-industry reporting expectations.
• Python or R experience for analysis beyond SQL.
