Emergency Department Technician (Paramedic)

Location: 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States. Onsite evening schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with every third weekend rotation.

Salary: $20.73–$29.02 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide emergency patient care, monitoring, observation, basic care, and safety support under the direction of registered nurses and physicians.
• Collect and report clinical data, including vital signs, blood glucose, specimens, pulse oximetry, capnography, and visual acuity.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, 12-lead ECGs, rhythm identification, oxygen administration, and assistance during code situations.
• Perform phlebotomy, start and discontinue IVs, manage maintenance fluids, and provide wound care and dressings.
• Assist with examinations, OB/GYN care, eye care, splints, wraps, immobilizers, crutches, and other procedures within the certified scope of practice.
• Identify changes in patient condition and promptly notify the registered nurse or physician.

Requirements

• Current EMT-P license without restrictions, or EMT-B certification with at least one year of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
• Relevant experience may include military service, private ambulance work, fire department experience, or healthcare employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Must work onsite in Winfield, Illinois, including evening hours and every third weekend.

Nice to have

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
