Endoscopy Technician Per Diem - Endoscopy (Endoscopy)

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States

Pay range: $21.53–$26.91, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Assist registered nurses and physicians during endoscopic procedures.
• Reprocess endoscopes and maintain equipment according to infection control and hospital guidelines.
• Set up, clean, and turn over procedure rooms for scheduled procedures.
• Escort patients, obtain baseline vital signs and pre-procedure information, and connect patients to monitoring equipment.
• Collect, label, document, and transport specimens according to policy.
• Restock supplies, identify equipment issues, and report unusual patient observations to nursing staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of different types of endoscopes and their use.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control procedures.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle detailed and confidential information.
• Ability to lift 30–35 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and potentially carcinogenic chemicals.

Nice to have

• One year of operating room experience.
