Patient Care Technician-Weekend Telemetry Part-Time Nights

Location: 1 Kish Hospital Dr., DeKalb, Illinois, United States; weekend night shift

Salary: $18.33–$24.75 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Monitor vital signs, measure blood glucose, and record intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other daily activities.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms while responding to calls, telephones, and intercoms.
• Support unit workflow, census validation, admissions, discharges, and communication between patient care departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of one clinical rotation as a nursing student, or certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
• Current CPR Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull with up to 50 pounds of force.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, stay organized, and function in stressful situations.
• A background check is required for newly hired team members.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant program or a phlebotomy course.
