Laboratory Technician I (SVOA)

Location: Orange, California, United States; onsite laboratory role. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm, second shift.

Salary: $20–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Prepare, organize, retrieve, store, and dispose of samples according to SOPs, chain-of-custody procedures, and hold-time requirements.
• Execute routine sample preparation for assigned SVOA methods and prepare reagents and solutions.
• Perform gravimetric and titrimetric measurements and support daily batch preparation.
• Handle, label, and document laboratory waste in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Maintain inventory awareness, clean contamination-controlled workspaces, temperature logs, and routine laboratory documentation.
• Report workflow issues, delays, and deviations while complying with quality assurance and health and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or science coursework is preferred.
• Basic understanding of laboratory workflows and sample preparation concepts.
• Ability to follow SOPs precisely and work methodically.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety, PPE use, chemical and solvent handling, and waste procedures.
• Strong organizational, time-management, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, remain stationary for the full shift, and lift up to 25 lbs independently or 50 lbs with assisted equipment.

Nice to have

• Prior laboratory or sample preparation experience, preferably in environmental testing.
• Familiarity with semi-volatile methods 8015, 8080, or 8270.
• Experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
