Research Associate in Health Economics

Location: Hybrid working within the UK, with weekly office attendance in Manchester

hirify.global hosts the Health Organisation, Policy and Economics research group and the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Care Systems and Commissioning.

What you will do

• Contribute to the design, delivery, and analysis of novel multidisciplinary research.
• Identify and critically appraise academic and policy literature.
• Source, collate, and clean administrative and survey data on health and care spending, utilisation, and outcomes.
• Design and conduct micro-econometric analyses, including programme evaluation where applicable.
• Develop productive relationships with stakeholders across the NHS and Department of Health and Social Care.

Requirements

• Excellent undergraduate degree in Economics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Excellent Master's degree in Economics or Health Economics with substantial econometrics content.
• Experience applying micro-econometric techniques and analysing complex datasets.
• Clear oral and written communication skills for academic and policy audiences.
• Ability to work from within the UK and attend the Manchester office weekly.

Nice to have

• PhD in Health Economics or Economics.
• Publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience applying micro-econometric techniques to programme evaluation.
• Knowledge of the health and care system in England.
