Science and Research Manager

Location: Fully remote, with bi-annual off-sites.

Salary: $10,000–$130,000 base salary plus bonus, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Evaluate existing and emerging ingredients to develop evidence-based claims across current and future product portfolios.
• Review marketing materials and support compliant, compelling customer-facing claims.
• Partner with Product and Marketing on ingredient research, formulation decisions, and early-stage product innovation.
• Support the design, execution, management, and analysis of clinical studies with internal leaders and external partners.
• Develop substantiation dossiers, scientific guidelines, and AI-enabled education projects for internal teams.
• Build scalable systems for research documentation, claims tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in science, regulatory affairs, or product development, including at least 1 year in the dietary supplement or food industry.
• Master’s degree or higher in a health-related scientific field such as nutrition, biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, or public health.
• Strong knowledge of scientific research methods, critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Experience with clinical study design, management, and analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA and FTC regulations for dietary supplements, including structure/function claims and substantiation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant health-related scientific field.
• Knowledge of dietary supplement labeling, GRAS assessments, and new dietary ingredient submissions.
