Principal Researcher, Healthcare Transformation

Location: Remote within the United States or from AIR offices in Arlington, Virginia; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Chicago, Illinois; Sacramento, California; or Austin, Texas. U.S. territories are excluded. Depending on project work, certain residency requirements may apply.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 USD annual salary.

What you will do

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of complex, multi-method research studies.
• Serve as principal investigator or senior advisor on high-profile research and evaluation projects.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams in developing study designs, analytic plans, and dissemination strategies.
• Shape research strategy by identifying emerging trends, funding opportunities, and areas for innovation.
• Build relationships with clients, funders, and partners while leading proposal development and client engagement.
• Oversee data collection and analysis, communicate findings to policymakers and practitioners, and mentor senior researchers and project staff.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in public health, public policy, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 11 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience leading contract research, evaluation, or academic research projects.
• Deep understanding of implementation science and systems-level change.
• Experience securing funding and managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative methodologies and software such as STATA, R, NVivo, and Excel.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; employment-based visa sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship, is not available.
