Medical Assistant-Neurosurgery Full Time Days (Neurosurgery): Supporting physicians, nurses, and patients in a neurosurgery clinic through patient flow coordination, clinical procedures, room preparation, and administrative documentation with an accent on vital signs, venipuncture, ECGs, specimen collection, and equipment safety. Focus on preparing patients for examinations, assisting with surgical procedures, maintaining clinical supplies and instruments, and delivering efficient patient care during weekday day shifts.
Location: Lake Forest Hospital, 1000 N. Westmoreland, Lake Forest, Illinois, United States. Full-time, onsite position with a Monday–Friday day schedule and 40 hours per week.
Salary: USD 19.13–25.83 per hour.

What you will do
- Support physicians, nurses, and licensed medical staff in the neurosurgery clinic.
- Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, document visit information, and support efficient patient flow.
- Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, procedure trays, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing.
- Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, monitor, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies.
- Communicate professionally with patients and the care team while safeguarding confidentiality and promoting patient satisfaction.
- Perform specialty procedures and other delegated duties according to established protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current medical assistant certification, or written proof of eligibility to take an accepted certification examination.
- Certification as CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA must be completed within the first six months of employment, with up to two test attempts.
- American Heart Association-accredited BLS/CPR certification.
- Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
- Ability to work onsite at Lake Forest Hospital on a Monday–Friday day schedule.
Nice to have
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
