CS Software Engineer in Test (AI)

Location: Portugal; remote role with virtual or onsite collaboration depending on work location.

What you will do

• Design comprehensive test strategies and select appropriate API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing approaches.
• Build, scale, and improve CI pipelines, reporting systems, quality dashboards, and test environments.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests and shell scripts using Java, Python, and Bash.
• Support quality across multiple concurrent projects and collaborate with engineering and project teams throughout the SDLC.
• Integrate AI tools, AI agents, Agent Skills, and automated scripts into quality workflows.
• Mentor development teams on Agile, Scrum, testing procedures, and Quality First practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in Test, QA Automation Engineer, or in a similar technical quality role.
• Strong practical knowledge of Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, pods, deployments, services, and Helm charts.
• Hands-on proficiency in Java, Python, Bash, Git, and Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with API, UI, and integration testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Knowledge of AI agents, MCP specifications, Agent Skills and Tools, prompt engineering, context management, knowledge retrieval, and session-state management.

Nice to have

• Experience with test reporting dashboards such as Snowflake or Grafana.
• Knowledge of performance and load testing frameworks such as JMeter, Locust, or K6.
• Experience creating test case traceability matrices.
