Backend Programmer (Gaming)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; hybrid work with office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

What you will do

• Integrate Apex Connect with theHunter: Call of the Wild as an embedded engineer within the Tech Foundation team.
• Develop and maintain high-performance, player-facing backend services supporting millions of active players.
• Design and build the next generation of backend services and contribute to long-term architectural roadmaps.
• Take ownership of core backend domains and maintain scalable, robust, and reliable codebases.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, DevOps specialists, backend developers, senior developers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional backend programming experience.
• Strong backend programming knowledge in Go, Python, and C#.
• Extensive experience with MySQL, NoSQL, Redis, or Memcache.
• Experience running services in commercial clouds or Kubernetes.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to technical excellence and functionality.

Nice to have

• Video game industry experience and a passion for gaming.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and C++.
• Experience with high-availability solutions.
