Senior Analyst - Consumer Credit Risk & Underwriting

Location: Brussels or Amsterdam; hybrid work with most teams meeting in the office 2–3 days per week.

Salary: €70,825–€79,324 EUR gross annual compensation.

What you will do

• Analyze Belgian consumer credit risk using SQL and Belgian credit bureau data.
• Develop and defend underwriting policies that determine credit eligibility and terms in Belgium.
• Bring Belgian credit policy onto Klarna’s Global Underwriting Platform.
• Align purchase-power and pre-qualification logic across the Klarna App and One Card product.
• Monitor bureau data and model quality, identifying issues with sourcing or performance.
• Translate analytical findings into policy changes for underwriting, product, and regional teams.

Requirements

• Experience in consumer credit risk, underwriting, or credit policy.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large, messy datasets.
• Strong understanding of credit bureau data, repayment behavior, and credit risk modeling.
• Ability to investigate ambiguous or inconsistent policy logic and identify root causes.
• Experience building underwriting or payment logic for markets where direct debit or local push payments are the default.
• Ability to turn data findings into actionable policy changes.

Nice to have

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
