Pre/Post-Op Clinical Nurse

Location: River North Surgery Center, 1 E Erie St Ste 300, Chicago, IL. Onsite, full-time role with rotating shifts and four 10-hour shifts per week.

Salary: USD 39.00–62.40 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide patient-centered pre- and post-operative nursing care for outpatient procedures.
• Assess patients, identify pre-anesthetic surgical risks, recognize complications, and escalate when further intervention is needed.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing, education, discharge, and recovery plans for patients and families.
• Document patient responses, communicate accurate handoffs, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other disciplines.
• Support safe surgery practices, evidence-based care, research activities, quality improvement, and professional nursing development.
• Educate and mentor patients, students, and team members while contributing to committees, policies, and shared leadership initiatives.

Requirements

• At least two years of current nursing experience in PACU, ICU, or ER.
• Graduate of an NLN-accredited school or college of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Healthcare-provider-level CPR recognition.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 35 pounds and push or pull with 50 pounds of force; strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

• Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.
