Salary: $17.05–$23.02 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including vital signs, blood glucose measurements, and intake and output recording.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and support unit workflow.
• Answer telephones, intercoms, and call lights while communicating information to patients, families, and staff.
• Support pre-census activities and validate daily admission, discharge, and census lists.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or completion of one semester of clinical nursing education.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility, organization, multitasking, prioritization, and critical thinking in stressful situations.
• Employment requires completion of a criminal background check in accordance with applicable Illinois and other laws.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing assistant program or phlebotomy course.
