Client Office Phlebotomist (Full-time Days)

Location: Client sites in Yorkville, Geneva, Elgin, Sandwich, and surrounding far Western suburbs of Illinois, United States. Requires travel to additional sites and availability to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus two weekends per month; flexibility for earlier or later client appointments is required.

Salary: $20.25–$27.34 per hour, including float differential compensation.

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and other laboratory specimen collections for infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair-bound patients.
• Provide post-phlebotomy care, identify medical assistance needs, and follow patient-safety procedures.
• Label, process, transfer, and track specimens according to established protocols.
• Review refrigerator temperatures and quality-control records, document issues, and report maintenance concerns.
• Obtain physician orders, enter laboratory tests into computer systems, and communicate draw status, results, and specimen issues.
• Perform related clerical duties, including faxing, printing, filing, reviewing, and verbally releasing laboratory results.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, or at least one year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, including weekdays, two weekends per month, and variable client-site hours.
• Ability to drive to multiple client sites in the far Western suburbs of Illinois.
• Ability to collect specimens from a broad range of patient types and maintain accurate patient identification and safety practices.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience processing and transferring laboratory specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
