TL;DR
Clinical Shift Coordinator (Charge) RN-Delnor Emergency Department Full Time Nights (Emergency Nursing/Leadership): Coordinating overnight emergency department nursing operations, patient care, staffing, and regulatory compliance with an accent on clinical leadership, patient safety, telemetry competency, and staff development. Focus on assigning care by acuity and competency, monitoring complex patients, coordinating admissions and patient placement, and maintaining evidence-based standards across three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Location: 300 Randall Rd., Geneva, Illinois, United States. Onsite emergency department role with three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; every third weekend and rotating holidays are required.

Salary: $38.50–$61.60 per hour.

What you will do

  • Coordinate overnight emergency department operations, staffing, patient placement, and nursing care delivery.
  • Assess patient acuity and staff competency to assign care and maintain safe coverage.
  • Monitor unstable, complex, and high-risk patient conditions and oversee documentation, admissions, charges, and safety requirements.
  • Lead staff huddles, rounding, coaching, orientation, competency observation, scheduling, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with physicians, managers, educators, other units, patients, and families to resolve issues and maintain continuity of care.
  • Support quality improvement, evidence-based practice, regulatory readiness, cost effectiveness, and patient satisfaction initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least three years of RN experience.
  • Active RN license in the State of Illinois required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification and telemetry competency.
  • English communication skills required, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge, strong customer service skills, and knowledge of the Illinois Practice Act and ANA nursing standards.
  • Ability to assess when an interpreter is needed and use interpreter services effectively.

Nice to have

  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Two or more years of experience in a pertinent clinical specialty.
  • Cert NRN or specialty certification such as CV-RN, CHFN, CCRN, PCCN, CNML, or NE-BC.
  • Completion of a required specialty certification within two years.
