System Administrator III

Location: Kingsville, Texas, United States; on-site staff position.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for server administration projects and support services.
• Set up, configure, analyze, and tune large and complex servers.
• Oversee system logs, audits, documentation, backup support, and Tier III technical support.
• Develop disaster recovery plans and oversee system security activities protecting and recovering client data.
• Evaluate technologies, recommend solutions, and approve deployment and system integration testing plans.
• Coordinate project work plans, technical resources, infrastructure requirements, and system implementations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of related experience.
• Knowledge of server administration, project management, vendor relations, client relations, quality assurance, and technical communication.
• Strong analytical, written communication, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills.
• Export-control authorization is required before employment begins.
• The position is security-sensitive and requires compliance with applicable state and federal laws and university policies.
