TL;DR

Focus on resolving complex drug interactions, adjusting therapies based on laboratory data and patient condition, and supporting emergency medication management.

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite, rotating shifts

Salary: $58.00–$84.10 per hour

What you will do

  • Identify, prevent, and resolve medication-related problems across critical care and emergency department settings.
  • Evaluate medication orders, drug interactions, therapeutic duplication, allergies, laboratory data, and treatment outcomes.
  • Provide pharmacokinetic consultation, therapeutic drug monitoring, adverse reaction support, and medication recommendations to healthcare professionals.
  • Compound and dispense sterile products, chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition, and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records, patient medication profiles, formulary controls, controlled medication inventories, and automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Provide medication education, emergency response support, staff training, quality improvement, and medication-use review activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
  • Active Clinical Pharmacist license in the state of Illinois is required.
  • Ability to communicate professional knowledge effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload within time constraints and collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Nice to have

  • Training or knowledge in specialty areas such as neonatology, critical care, or oncology.
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience.
