Spring 2027 Actuarial Intern (Part-Time, On-Site) (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in Center City, Philadelphia, PA; two days in the office per week and the remainder remote. The internship runs from January 19 to April 30, 2027, with a flexible schedule of 10–20 hours per week.

Salary: Hourly rate starting at $28.00.

What you will do

• Explore how healthcare data explains costs, financial trends, programs, and policies.
• Support introductory analyses related to pricing, forecasting, and reserving.
• Build or improve tools that organize information and support business decisions.
• Develop actuarial and professional skills through training, job shadows, leadership lunches, mentorship, and career coaching.
• Collaborate with actuarial professionals and leaders through the AEDP community.

Requirements

• Be enrolled at a university listed in the SOA Universities and Colleges with Actuarial Programs and be pursuing a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Sophomore standing or at least two completed semesters of relevant coursework is preferred.
• Attend the Philadelphia office two days per week; days and hours are flexible around the academic schedule.
• Minimum 3.2 GPA.
• Work effectively with data and communicate and collaborate clearly across teams.
• Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring visa support now or in the future, including H-1B, CPT, OPT, or STEM support.

Nice to have

• Strong Excel skills and exposure to Python, R, SQL, AI-enabled tools, or other emerging technologies.
• Completion of at least one actuarial exam.
• Early leadership potential, strategic thinking, ownership, and comfort with innovation or ambiguity.
