Location: Houston, United States; ability to travel as required.

Salary: $88,900–$168,300 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

  • Prepare independent, well-supported valuations of real estate assets and entities.
  • Perform local, national, and international real estate market analyses using relevant valuation approaches.
  • Gather engagement data through client interaction and interviews with brokers, appraisers, investors, developers, and asset managers.
  • Review industry surveys, benchmarks, economic trends, and demographic data.
  • Prepare and present valuation analyses, proposals, and executive presentations.
  • Develop value conclusions in accordance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Real Estate Finance.
  • 4–6 years of real estate valuation experience, preferably with a global or national firm.
  • Technical knowledge of real estate as an investment class, discounted cash flow models, and capitalization rates.
  • Familiarity with Argus financial models and professional and regulatory valuation issues.
  • Knowledge of FASB fair value accounting standards, including ASC 820, purchase price allocation under ASC 805, and impairment analysis under ASC 360.
  • Strong analytical, written, oral communication, relationship-building, and report-writing skills; ability to work independently.

Nice to have

  • Completion of the USPAP 15-hour course.
  • Familiarity with research and analysis complying with USPAP Standards 1 and 2.
