Data Architect (Microsoft Fabric)

What you will do

• Design and personally implement the enterprise data architecture using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure data services, Azure SQL, and related platforms.
• Build and maintain ingestion and transformation pipelines connecting SaaS and vendor-hosted systems through APIs, cloud storage, and modern integration tools.
• Develop conceptual, logical, physical, and analytics-ready data models for operational, financial, performance, and executive reporting.
• Build governed Power BI datasets, semantic models, shared data sources, dashboards, and self-service reporting through Power Platform and Dataverse.
• Improve performance, reliability, refresh stability, data quality, security, access control, documentation, and lineage.
• Define a phased enterprise data strategy and partner with IT, Finance, Operations, analysts, and business leaders to deliver trusted data solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Power BI, Power Platform, Dataverse, Databricks, Python, Snowflake, Synapse, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, data transformation, query optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, JSON, CSV, Excel, databases, SaaS exports, and multiple vendor platforms.
• Experience implementing data governance, including ownership, stewardship, quality monitoring, metadata, documentation, and lineage; familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, business administration, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Azure or Microsoft Fabric certifications.
• Experience with dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, Dagster, Airflow, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Experience with AI coding assistants, LLM-based workflows, AI-enabled analytics, and automation.
