Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Neurohospitalist, Full-time, Days (Neurology)

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite inpatient clinical role

Salary: $61.00–$79.67 per hour

What you will do

• Provide inpatient neurological care across critical care, stroke, and general neurology, with possible outpatient responsibilities.
• Conduct health histories, physical examinations, clinical assessments, and follow-up evaluations.
• Prescribe or order medications, therapies, laboratory tests, imaging, and procedures within clinical privileges.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and external groups on neurological care and treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines, refer patients when appropriate, and advocate for patients and families.
• Participate in quality improvement, research, committees, continuing education, and student mentoring.

Requirements

• Current Illinois licensure is required as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing or Physician Assistant program.
• Acute care certification is required for APRNs.
• National APRN certification approved by the Illinois APRN Board, or applicable Physician Assistant licensure and credentials.
• Medical Staff Office privileging and credentialing, plus current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday business hours, approximately 50% day and 50% evening; no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts.
