RN Staff Nurse Outpatient Oncology Infusion (Oncology)

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour

What you will do

• Assess patients, develop individualized nursing care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Coordinate outpatient oncology infusion care and direct the work of assistants involved in patient care.
• Educate patients and families about treatment, pain management, continuity of care, and discharge planning.
• Promote patient safety, follow National Patient Safety Goals, and reduce the likelihood of healthcare errors.
• Perform pain assessments, use appropriate pain-management techniques, and provide effective hand-offs to subsequent healthcare providers.
• Participate in required on-call assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for new hires after January 1, 2011.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois required.
• At least one year of experience in a similar role; three years preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support requirements vary by cost center; these certifications are not required for outpatient oncology departments.
• Availability for a full-time schedule of 36 hours per week and required on-call assignments.
