Location: Piketon, Ohio, United States; onsite environmental restoration work. US citizenship is required, and the position requires an active DOE L Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain it.

What you will do

• Support industrial hygiene activities, monitoring, controls, and hazard mitigation.
• Assist with evaluating compliance with federal and state regulations, DOE Orders, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Analyze industrial hygiene data and compare readings with established limits.
• Use laboratory equipment, instruments, and sample collection tools for industrial hygiene analyses.
• Maintain data capture systems and prepare reports, charts, and spreadsheets.
• Participate in Safety Work Groups and provide environmental and hazardous-material support.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Active DOE L Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
• Radiological training or the ability to complete required training.
• High school diploma or GED plus related experience: one year for the Junior level or two years for the Senior level.
• Intermediate computer, Microsoft software, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work around chemicals, hazardous materials, radioactive materials, radiation, confined areas, noise, heat, cold, and other industrial hazards while using respirators and required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience at DOE, nuclear, environmental remediation, decontamination and decommissioning, or hazardous-material sites.
• Experience with industrial hygiene measuring equipment, laboratory equipment, data systems, and sample collection.
• Experience with respiratory protection, protective clothing, hearing protection, and occupational exposures such as asbestos, silica, lead, arsenic, and hydrofluoric acid.
