Founding Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and own clean, trusted core data models for the product and business.
• Work in the product and engineering codebase to ensure data is captured and structured correctly at source.
• Build and maintain reliable pipelines connecting business systems.
• Develop a self-serve data platform for product, growth, commercial, operations, and agent users.
• Structure data for accurate, scalable analytical work by AI agents.
• Define meaningful metrics, answer ambiguous business questions, and establish standards for data quality, definitions, and instrumentation.

Requirements

• Experience building a data foundation for a consumer product or marketplace at scale.
• Ability to combine data engineering and analytical work, including modelling data and interpreting business performance.
• Comfort reading existing codebases and changing how systems model and emit data.
• Fluency with a modern analytics stack, including a cloud warehouse, transformation layer, orchestration, and BI.
• Product and commercial mindset, with focus on metrics and the decisions they support.
• Strong judgement, initiative, ambition, and ability to build platforms rather than one-off solutions.

Hiring process

• Initial 30-minute video call with the Internal Talent Lead.
• Hiring Manager call followed, for most roles, by an offline practical task.
• Onsite interview loop with the team, task review, culture and values discussion, and a final interview with the Founder.
