AWS Data Engineer

What you will do

• Architect and implement secure, scalable data pipelines using AWS-native services.
• Develop ingestion frameworks for relational systems, APIs, files, events, and change-data-capture sources.
• Build SQL, Python, and dbt transformation workflows and dimensional or domain-oriented data models.
• Structure traceable raw, curated, and consumption-ready data across lakehouse layers.
• Create reusable data products for operational insight, reporting, customer solutions, machine learning, and AI use cases.
• Improve data quality, governance, observability, reliability, incident response, and AWS cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Production experience designing and operating data engineering solutions on Amazon Web Services.
• Strong knowledge of Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, AWS Database Migration Service, and Step Functions.
• Advanced SQL and professional Python experience for transformations, automation, testing, and maintainable code.
• Hands-on dbt experience, including modular transformations, testing, documentation, and dependency management.
• Understanding of lakehouse architecture, layered data design, the Medallion approach, batch processing, APIs, streaming, and event-based integration.
• Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, security, access controls, resilience, observability, and cloud resource efficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience with customer-facing analytics, operational intelligence, or data-enabled digital products.
• Familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence, Data Mesh, domain ownership, or data-product operating models.
• AWS certification such as Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, or Developer.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, software, telecommunications, or another data-intensive sector.
