Big Data Engineer

Location: Paris, France (75002); hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and monitor Spark data pipelines for large-scale data lake ingestion handling hundreds of terabytes.
• Optimize the performance, reliability, and operating costs of big data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Use Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift together with AWS S3, Glue, Athena, and Lambda.
• Create, manage, and optimize Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg tables in lakehouse architectures.
• Apply security-by-design, data governance, compliance, data modeling, and observability practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or backend data platforms, including at least 3 years building and operating big data pipelines.
• Proven experience handling large data volumes of at least hundreds of terabytes.
• Strong expertise in Apache Spark and at least one of Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift.
• Experience with Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg, Python or Java, SQL, AWS infrastructure, infrastructure as code, and observability.
• Understanding of cost management, data security, governance, and data modeling.
• Equivalent engineering school or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Applied Mathematics; fluent English and French required.
