Senior Software Engineer I - Data & Algorithm Engineering (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Maintain, improve, and expand data models and Databricks pipelines for the Patient Domain.
• Develop secure, maintainable, performant, correct, scalable, and stable backend solutions.
• Turn complex healthcare data into well-defined insights about patients and their interactions with the healthcare system.
• Design and execute technical roadmaps with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders using Agile processes.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and provide thorough pull request reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience building backend applications as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL or another database querying language on large, multi-table datasets.
• 2+ years of experience making technical decisions that balance short-term and long-term business value.
• 2+ years of experience coaching other engineers.
• Experience with data engineering, data warehouses, backend languages, data pipelines, ETL, large-scale data processing, database systems, and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift in addition to Databricks.
• Experience building data pipelines with Kafka or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of database replication, sharding, scalability, and high availability.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with security and systems handling sensitive data.
